Manchester United vs Newcastle United: Live Score and Live Updates

http://football-cricket.blogspot.com/2008/01/manchester-united-vs-newcastle-united_12.html

Manchester Untied is going to host an underperformed Newcastle United on Saturday in the premier league. With 48 points, Manchester United now stands second in the point table, whereas Newcastle United has been in a poor form so far this season. The Magpies are struggling with 26 points so far securing 11th place in the league standings. So, Newcastle United will find it a bit difficult at the Old Trafford against Manchester Untied. It is really something disappointing for the fans to see a side which have been underperformed throughout the season.

Manchester United is the defending champion and they are one of strongest contenders of the league. Despite some early setbacks, Manchester United could bounce back in the league and they are now performing with sheer consistency. Aside from premier league, Manchester United is still active in FA Cup and UEFA Champions League. Manager Alex Ferguson has recently revealed that he eyes on both home and away success this season.

Goal.com reported:

"We have the players and the back-up to do it. We are a more mature team this season in terms of European football and we have played some successful and entertaining stuff.

"We've lost a couple of games in the league but our consistency overall has been very good. We are with the leaders in the league and we are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and ready for the exciting games ahead."

With a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the third round match of FA Cup, Manchester United has made it to the fourth round this weekend. The good news for the Red Devils is that ace striker Wayne Rooney has come back in action with scoring the second goal against Aston Villa. Where the other teams are losing their key players ahead of the African Nations Cup, Manchester United now seems to be getting stronger, with no players from African in the squad. Midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo is now in his great form and currently leading the list of highest goal scorers with 13 premier league goals. Ronaldo is delighted with Rooney’s come back in the side which, to him, has made them stronger.

Goal.com reported:

"Everyone knows Wayne is a good player," said the Portuguese international.

"He does not have to do anything to prove that. He came on against Villa and did very well. He looked sharp and good - that can only benefit us. We have a strong season ahead of us, so it is important Wayne is ready along with all the other players as well."

Manchester Untied has some more news to cheer on. Defender Mikael Silvestre is also confident to come back in the squad soon terming his long rehabilitation time boring. On the other hand, Newcastle United is going through a tough time. They have recently finished a goal less draw against Stroke City. Though star forward, Michael Owen came back in the squad, he was not in his good form to start scoring. Since his move from Real Madrid, Owen has been underperformed and Newcastle United is eagerly waiting to see his impressive from in the season which will lead the side to go up in the league table.

Fansfc reported:

"We are pleased to have him back and hopefully now he will get sharper and sharper as each game goes on and score more and more goals because that's what we are looking for," he told the club's official website.
"And I hope that's the case right the way through to the end of the season."

Actually, Michael Owen could not score for Newcastle United since early October. So, Newcastle United will hope to see their star forward in an imperious form against Manchester United. Manager Sam Allardyce is now under huge pressure due to their poor form of Newcastle United. However, goalkeeper Shay Given has recently said that this is the responsibility of the players to ease the pressure mounting on their manager.

Skysports reported:

"We as players have to stand up and be counted because the only reason the manager is under pressure is that we are under-performing," Given told The Journal.

"We've got to put that right, stick together and start playing better.

Well, it is also natural that when the performance of the club is not up to the mark, manager must be under pressure. Now, Newcastle United has to cope up with this tough situation and bounce back in the premier league. Still, first of all, players need to come back in their prime form in order to lead the side to achieve some success at last.

Manchester Untied seems favorite in the match as they going to play at their home ground. However, if Newcastle United players can play according to their talent then I think, they will be able to give some scary moments to the host side and I will not surprised if Newcastle can get at least a point from the match.

Cristiano Ronaldo Upbeat with 2007 Success

Manchester United is now in the second place of the premiership league table with 48 points. You may not be impressed with the performance of Manchester Untied as they are now in the leading place. However, if you are told that Manchester United got a bad start this season and they were going out of the championship race. The man played a big role behind their revival in the season was their Portuguese midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo. He is now the leading goal scorer of this season so far with 13 goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the English Footballer of the year and it seems that he has continued his impressive run this season as well. The second best world player of the year has recently said that he is confident to perform better in 2008.

Goal.com reported:

“I think I really did a good job of work. And I hope to do better in 2008.

“As usual the priority at United is the Premiership and the Champions League. These are the two most important trophies.

“Last year we had no luck against Milan in the semi-finals. I hope this time the wheel of fortune will turn in our favour. We have the means to do it.”

Indicating his early days in England, he has also revealed that he is now a different player and he hold high ambition for his club and himself this season. He has also stated that mixing with some of the best players of the world helped him to progress. Now, Manchester Untied fans can feel happy that the club’s ace player is now in his prime form and confident to do better this year. What is more, much of their successes depend on the performance of Cristiano Ronaldo. Now, do you think that he will be able to lead Manchester Untied to defend their premiership title?

Carlos Tevez Injury Not Serious

Manchester United feels happy as Carlos Tevez’s injury is not serious. The forward faced a bad tackle in the first half of their 1-0 victory over Birmingham City recently. After scoring the winner, Carlos Tevez had to leave the field in 71 minute of the match with an injured ankle. Though it was earlier thought to be something serious, club’s official website recently made it clear that Carlos Tevez is not suffering any broken bone. However, he will miss Manchester Untied’s FA Cup showdown against Aston Villa next week. Earlier, Manchester Untied manager said:

"It was a bad tackle and the longer the game went on, the worse the injury got.

"In the end, we had to bring Carlos off. We will assess him tomorrow to see what the damage is but he is doubtful for Saturday now."

Though Manchester Untied will miss Carlos Tevez, they may get forward Wayne Rooney for the clash against Aston Villa as he has recovered from viral fever. He can fill up the gap of Carlos Tevez. So, Aston Villa can not feel happy with the injury problem of Carlos Tevez. Now, let us see if Wayne Rooney can lead Manchester Untied to win the match against Aston Villa.

Manchester United Defeat Birmingham City with Carlos Tevez

Manchester United had a nightmare time in their last match against West ham United. They lost that match despite leading and then having a penalty. This time, they were luckier and defeated Birmingham City by 1-0. Carlos Tevez scored the only goal of the match. Manchester United did not play that bad they should have scored more than one goal.

BBC wrote:

Tevez's overhead kick and a Cristiano Ronaldo back-heel carved open the Blues defence and the Argentine calmly slotted home the winner on 25 minutes.

Cameron Jerome was down injured then but Birmingham complaints were limited and they battled bravely to the end.

Tevez, who also hit the woodwork twice, went off late on with an ankle injury.

The good news for Manchester United that with this win they could keep the pressure on Arsenal. They are just 2 points the leader. Well, the bad news is that injury worry might make them suffer in the next few matches.

Times Online wrote:

And, the sight of the already-substituted former West Ham United player needing to be carried to the dressing room by two members of United's backroom staff after the final whistle was not what Ferguson would have wanted.

For long periods, precious little happened on the pitch to lift flagging spirits either.

With Wayne Rooney still absent through illness, Park Ji-sung, handed his first start since March, worked predictably hard, as did Nani on the left flank. But equally predictably, it was largely left to Ronaldo and Tevez to test Birmingham's defence.

So, the last thing Man Utd needs at this moment is another injury.

West Ham United vs Manchester Untied: Alan Curbishley Hopes to Repeat Success

West Ham United and Manchester United match is now the main attention of the fans of these two teams. West Ham United defeated Manchester Untied in the last season in both home and away games. That was humiliating for the eventual champion. Now, Manchester Untied will visit Upton Park bearing the shocking memory in them. They will try to take the revenge this time around.

However, West Ham United manager Alan Curbishley is confident to repeat their Manchester United success once again in front of the home crowd on Saturday and with this win, West Ham United can get out of their patchy home record this season. West Ham United could not win any match in their last five home matches.

Alan Curbishley’s first assignment as West Ham United manager was the home match against Manchester Untied last season that his side won 1-0 giving a happy start for their new coach. Later on, in the final match of the season, West Ham United defeated Manchester United away to avoid relegation.

Manager Alan Curbishley has said that they need to win some home matches and that will start on Saturday. He has defended his team’s successive loses on the home soil saying that the teams West Ham United lost to were all top six teams of league point table. However, he has also expressed that he is frustrated with this results. Now, let us see if West Ham United can come up with the same success on Saturday that they had against Manchester Untied last season.

What do you think about it?

Everton vs Arsenal: Live Score and Updates

http://football-cricket.blogspot.com/2007/12/everton-vs-arsenal-live-score-and.html

You already know that Manchester United and West Ham United are going to face each other in a crucial English premier league match on Saturday. West Ham United will face Manchester Untied at their home soil at Upton Park. However, it will be wrong to guess that West Ham United will have home advantage counted in their tie with Manchester United because the West Ham United could not win any match in their last five home matches including the Boxing Day stalemate against Reading.

Yes, it is, for sure, that Manchester Untied is now in great form with five successive wins in EPL. So, they will travel to West Ham United with a view to claim their sixth consecutive victory. However, Manchester United can not be overconfident remembering their last season performance against West Ham. The Hammers defeated Manchester in both home and away matches last season.

Manchester United has recently projected a smashing 4-0 victory over second bottom Sunderland. Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves were not part of that victory due to their injuries. So, I am not so sure if they will be drafted in the starting line up of Manchester Untied. Defender Patrice Evra was rested in the match and is expected to come in against West Ham United.

West Ham United has a long ling of players suffering from injuries. Craig Bellamy, Luis Boa Morte, Lee Bowyer, Kieron Dyer and Julien Faubert are almost certain to miss the match against Manchester Untied. However, Anton Ferdinand may come back with this match as he has already overcome hamstring problem.

Manchester will try to take revenge of their last season defeats whereas West Ham will be inspired to outperform the league leaders as they did in the last season. Now, let us see if Manchester Untied and West Ham United can present with an exciting match on Saturday.

http://football-cricket.blogspot.com/2007/12/everton-vs-arsenal-live-score-and.html

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has come back in action with their 4-0 victory over Sunderland on the Boxing Day. After spending a long time out of the squad due to knee injury, the South Korean international has been back with his impressive form intact. Since his joining the club in 2005, Park has been impressive so far with his tremendous skill in moving and passing the ball. He is one of those few Asian players who are playing with sheer consistency in English premier league. He missed the whole season of Manchester United as he was out of the squad since last March.

Park Ji-sung was brought on as substitute against Sunderland and played more than half an hour in the match. Manger Sir Alex Ferguson has been full of praise for this midfielder saying that he was delighted with Park’s performance in the match. Terming Park a natural mover, Ferguson has also added that Park has a great talent of moving in field. It is true that Park Ji-sung has a great stamina which helps him running throughout 90 minutes in the same strength and power.

It was earlier thought that if he will be able to come back with his great form. He has already proved his worth once again in the last match. Now, the question comes if Park Ji-sung will be given a place in the starting line up of Manchester United in their upcoming showdown against West Ham United.

There is no doubt that Park has to face some strong challenges to claim a place in the starting eleven now as there are some more talented midfielder in the squad. Everton vs Arsenal: Live Score and Updates

http://football-cricket.blogspot.com/2007/12/everton-vs-arsenal-live-score-and.html

West Ham United will take on Manchester Untied in an English Premier League match at their home ground, Upton Park. The match will take place on 29 December. Manchester Untied is now in the lead of league point table ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Portsmouth. The Red Devils has just projected a 4-0 thrashing victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of light. Arsenal will remain in the top if they emerge victorious in Portsmouth. In contrast, West Ham United experienced an ordinary draw at their home ground against Reading. They are now in the ninth position with this draw.

Manchester United is now in their good form with three straight premier league victories. They have been going hand in hand with Arsenal in the league standing over the last few weeks. After the early setback in the league, Red Devils could make a strong come back with sheer consistency. The key players of Manchester are now in their prime form. To name a few, Cristiano Ronaldo, Louis Saha and Wayne Rooney are now in their good form. Argentine forward Carlos Tévez has also been impressive so far with his consistency.

Manager Alex Ferguson rested some of his top guns including Carlos Tevez, Ryan Giggs and Anderson in the 4-0 triumph against Sunderland on the Boxing Day. However, still Manchester United maintained their pressure on Sunderland. That is where the strength of Manchester Untied lies. So, it seems that Manchester Untied is now determined to defend their title this season.

In contrast to Manchester Untied, the situation of West Ham United is not good at all. The East London club suffered three loses against a win and a draw in their last five EPL matches including their recent draw against Reading at home. If you think that West Ham United will have home advantage counted for them against Manchester Untied then I would like to let you know that West Ham United failed to manage any victory in their last three home matches. Actually, the side is going though a tough time in last few weeks. Their players are struggling to get their form back that reflects their recent form. In the draw match against Reading, West Ham United was ahead by a goal at the half time. However, they failed to hold the lead against a 10-men Reading in the second half.

Now, it would not be fair to predict anything beforehand regarding the result of West Ham United vs Manchester United match. West Ham United will be determined to face the defending champions at their home yard. So, they can see it as the best way to come back with at least a draw. On the other hand, Manchester Untied will be happy to see them going towards another English Premier League title. So, you can expect an interesting match on this Saturday.

Sunderland vs Manchester United: Alex Ferguson to Bring Some Changes

Manchester United is going to travel to Sunderland on the Boxing Day to face the host Sunderland. Manchester Untied has defeated Everton last weekend with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring twice. With this victory Manchester United again moved up to within a point of league point table leader Arsenal.

Now, ahead of the match against Sunderland, players are trying their best to ensure three points. Manchester United will get two of their key players, Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves, for their upcoming tie with Sunderland. Both of them missed Manchester United’s victory over Everton on Sunday. Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he is hopeful regarding the return of Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves. However, regular goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar will miss next two or three matches due to his groin injury.

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has indicated that there will be few changes in the starting line up against Sunderland. He will have lots of options available to choose from ahead of the match. Darren Fletcher, John O’Shea, Nani, Louis Saha and Ji-sung Park are all waiting to make it to the starting line up of Manchester Untied. Ferguson has also said that he will not make a lot of changes despite a handful of fit players. Now, let us see who are going to be in the starting line up of Manchester United in the match against Sunderland.

Sunderland vs Manchester Untied: Nyron Nosworthy Likely to Come Back

Sunderland is likely to get their reliable defender Nyron Nosworthy available for their upcoming match against Manchester United. The Boxing Day match is now in the main focus of both the clubs. There is report that the defender has recovered from his hamstring injury.

Nyron Nosworthy has already played 71 matches for Sunderland since joining the side in 2005. He has become Sunderland’s Player of the Season for 2006-2007. He played a big part for Sunderland last season helping the side to progress to the English premier league. However, they are against being threatened of relegation as they could gather only 14 points from 18 matches. After Roy Keane took over as new manager of Sunderland earlier this season, Nyron Nosworthy started playing at the center half in stead of his previous position at the right back. It is believed that the move helped his game and he has become more impressive this season so far before his falling in hamstring injury.

I think, Nyron Nosworthy can play a big role in the revival of Sunderland this season helping out Sunderland in avoiding relegation. Now, let us see if Roy Keane brings on Nyron Nosworthy ahead of their match against Manchester United.

Sunderland vs Manchester Untied: Liam Miller to Serve Third Match Suspension

Sunderland midfielder Liam Miller will be out for third consecutive match on the Boxing Day against Manchester Untied. Liam Miller was sent off during Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea. The midfielder has already served two out of three-match ban missing Sunderland’s last two matches against Aston Villa and Reading. The Irish footballer will serve his third match ban on Wednesday when his team will take on Manchester United.

Yes, it is a big blow for Sunderland as they are not getting the service of this midfielder. There is big news for Manager Roy Keane. The Sunderland manger will get Kieran Richardson available for the match against Manchester United as the midfielder has recovered from a back injury. Defender Russell Anderson is also set to return with the Manchester Untied match. So, Sunderland defense is expected to become stronger with the return of Russell Anderson.

So, it seems that Kieran Richardson can fill up the void of Liam Miller. Achieving point is now badly needed for the Black Cats in order to save themselves from relegation. Now, let us see if Kieran Richardson can come up with some impressive performances in the Boxing Day match.

Sunderland vs Manchester United match is now the center of all attention among the fans of both sides. Both the teams have their own goals to achieve in the league. Manchester Untied is now going hand to hand with league leader Arsenal, while Sunderland is facing relegation with only 14 points in EPL. So, Manchester United aims to defend their title. However, Sunderland needs to bounce back to survive in English premier league this season.

Now, ahead of their crucial match against title contender Manchester Untied, Sunderland has two good news at this moment. Midfielder Kieran Richardson and Defender Russell Anderson are set to return with the match against Manchester Untied after suffering from long term injuries. Russell Anderson was ruled out since his falling in an ankle injury in August. He could yet appear in two matches for Sunderland since his joining the club last summer. Moreover, midfielder Kieran Richardson is also expected to be available for the Boxing Day match against Sunderland. Kieran Richardson suffered a back injury since August and has joined the club’s training a few days ago. Now, he is available to play his only third match for Sunderland.

Sunderland has to bounce back in order to come back in the league. I think that the return of Kieran Richardson and Russell Anderson will definitely help Sunderland manager Roy Keane to bring on a strong side against Manchester Untied. However, I am not sure yet if they two players can present with impressive performances in the match as they have just returned after a long gap.

Sunderland vs Manchester United: Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves to Come Back

Manchester Untied fans can cheer on as there are two good news for Manchester Untied ahead of their upcoming EPL match against Sunderland. Midfielder Owen Hargreaves and defender Rio Ferdinand are expected to be fit before they take on Sunderland. The two key players missed their 2-1 victory over Everton last weekend.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful for both Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves to be fit to take part in the Sunderland match. Ferguson has also indicated that he will bring some changes against Sunderland. The good news for Alex Ferguson is that South Korean midfielder Park Ji-sung is also ready to come back with this match. Park has been out for a long time because of his injury. He joined team’s training 3 weeks ago.

However, regular goal keeper Edwin van der Sar will definitely miss the match against Sunderland due to his groin injury. Tomasz Kuszczak will stand in the goal bar on the absence of the Dutch goal keeper. So, Manchester United will not have to worry for goalkeeping.

With the return of Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves, Manchester Untied will have lot more options available to choose form ahead of their tie with Sunderland. Now the question comes here is that if Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves will be able to help Manchester United to outperform Sunderland?
