Manchester Untied Experienced a Record Turnover

Manchester Untied has seen an increased gross turnover in the last financial year ended in June 30, 2007. With a record turnover of 245 million pounds, Manchester United had a successful financial year as well. Manchester Untied has become the champion of English Premier League 2006-2007 champion. They are still in the championship race with 48 points from 21 games standing 2nd in the league point table. So, there is no doubt, Manchester United had a successful last season. Financial Times has recently said that Manchester United has experienced a 21 percent increase in its gross turnover last season.

Revenues from its deal with US sportswear firm Nike and income from its broadcasting arm MUTV are included in the figure, but not from merchandising, which is recorded under a wholly-owned subsidiary, it added.

In addition, the Old Trafford club will claim to be supported by a third of a billion people around the world, based on a study of 1,000 people in 21 countries it commissioned from market research firm TNS Sport.

Real Madrid holds the status of being world’s richest club with a reported 263 million pound turnover in 2006-2007 financial year. Surprisingly, Real Madrid was also the champion of Spanish La Liga last season. Now, let us see if Manchester Untied and Real Madrid can defend their title this season.
