Indian Premier League (IPL): Will IPL lead to premature retirements among the top players?

The inaugural cash-rich Indian Premier League has become successful in its first season to attract the attention of all ages and classes people from all over the world. The on going IPL is now at the way of end. Star cricketers from all over the world are excited to join this multimillion domestic league. And that is why they are ready to take retirement from national team. However, IPL authorities have decided to arrange the tournament twice a year from 2011. Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag warns it may lead to early retirement among the top players.

IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi, in a recent interview, said for the
first three editions, IPL would remain an annual event but after that, he would
like to see the Twenty20 league twice a year, starting in May and
September.Sehwag, however, is apprehensive about the move, which he fears may
not augur well for the game.

Now, may be you can see that foreign players are reluctant to play for country because of big amount of money in a short time. For IPL, ICC member may have to change the international schedule that should not be good for cricket. I hope BCCI will stop IPL forever or change the rules and duration of match schedule as it can not affect the international cricket.

The much viewed multimillion dollar domestic Indian Premier League has become successful to spread its climax and thrill to its fans in its inaugural season. It is now the way of end. Forty-eight matches have already played and now more 11 matches are left. The first round will finish with the match between Kings XI Punjab vs Rajasthan Royals. on 28th May this year. Then top four teams will be able to play in the semi-final round. After that, two best teams will face in the final round. However, IPL semi-final schedule is still unrevealed. Top three teams name is quite sure but we can see a fight between number four and five position teams who are fighting hard to get their semi-final ticket. The batting sensation and hard hitter Yuvraj Singh is leading this team with glory and pride. Depending on his captaincy, Kings XI Punjab is taking the second position in the point table with 16 points. However, their eight glorious victories in 11 matches set them as the second team in the semi-final round. They are the most possible team to be the inaugural IPL T20 champion. If you are fan of Preity Zinta then you should want to see them in the final round and claim the diamond-studded trophy as the champion team in its inaugural season.
The most sensational and highest biding player MS Dhoni is leading the Chennai Super Kings. He is the most attractive players to his fans. And most of you also know that under his captaincy, India won the first Twenty20 world cup 2007 in South Africa. He again proves his captaincy skill set his team in the third position with 14 points. So, in my point of view I am quite sure that Mumbai Indians will be the lucky number four and that is really miracle in the inaugural IPL.
I know most of the fans are disappeared because of your favorite team’s defeat and unable to reach in the second round. Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders started their tournament with joy. This is bad luck they could not continue their performance. Being a troop of super stars, they failed to do well and unable to make place in the semi-final. Another highest biding team Bangalore Royal Challengers failed to make any thrill and climax. Their super stars like Jacque Kallis, Mark Boucher, Anil Kumble and Misbah-ul-Haq turn down their team. Their way of playing seems to us that they had no responsibility.
The most important news is that the semi-final round is going to start on 30th May at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Nothing is impossible as the game is cricket. Anything can change. But I think Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians will fight in the semi-final. So, wait for semi-final match until it will be held on the field.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ player David Hussey is the leading six-hitter in IPL. He hit his 17^th six during his match-winning 31 runs against Delhi Daredevils. His two sixes on Tuesday night made him leading six hitter in the inaugural IPL tournament. Adam Gilchrist is now in the second position with 16^th sixes beside his name.

West Australian 24 year old left-hander Shaun Marsh has been in devastating form with his phenomenal average of 98.33 in the Twenty20 standard. He is also taking the fourth place in the list of highest run scorer with the score of 295 at a strike rate of 135.94 with 32 fours and nine sixes after Just Gautam Gambhir, Adam Gilchrist and Rohit Sharma. IPL chairman Lalit Modi sad, “Shoaib Akhtar will not be allowed to play in the Indian Premier League despite being cleared by the Pakistan Cricket board.

This 32 year old controversial naughty boy had been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board for five years on charges of indiscipline. However, PCB panel confirmed he was free to play outside the country.

Shoaib was signed up by the Kolkata Knight Riders for US $ 425,000. Unfortunately, he was barred from appearing in the tournament by the IPL council "in the interests of international discipline" after the PCB banned him on disciplinary grounds last month.

No doubt, his five-year ban has made his cricket career uncertain. What will he do in this situation?

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Sourav Ganguly has been fined 10 per cent of his match fees for his prevailing upon field umpire, Mr Pratap Kumar, to refer a decision to the TV umpire during the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals Indian Premier League match.

Ganguly’s act of prevailing upon field-umpire to refer a decision to the TV umpire constitutes a Level 1 offence as per ICC’s Code of Conduct.

What’s the reason that he bounded to prevail decision for a third-umpire referrals? He had asked for a third referral on his catch that South African Graeme Smith took during the match which Rajasthan Royals won by 45 runs.

However, Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne also fined for going to the press.

The IPL also decided to suspend the on-field umpire, Pratap Kumar, for one match for acceding Ganguly’s request to consult the TV umpire.

Darren Lehmann ambitious to be coach

The 38 year old Australian former player and newly appointed Australian Cricketers Association President Darren Lehmann expect and believe that the second season of IPL would be “bigger and better” in next April and May.

He said, “It's nice to pay the players well and get big money from television rights and sponsorships, but ultimately you've got to provide a return for the owners or in this case the franchises”.

There is a common proverb that “it takes two hands to clap”. You can ask me what is the relation between this proverb and the recently happened incident on the cricket field between Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth.

Harbhajan Singh: What's Next?

Harbhajan Singh’s recent incident on the field has raised a question of his innocence. It is also the most talk of the time for all cricket fans in the whole world. What was the incident that handed an 11-match ban from domestic Twenty20 tournament? The reason is that he (Harbhajan) was found guilty of slapping national team-mate Shanthakumaran Sreesanth. After all, it takes two hands to clap and despite the “heavy” protestation of innocence by the BCCI and almost the entire country, the mud did stick on Harbhajan.

Most of you already know that the 27 year old Harbhajan was leading the Mumbai Indians. The Rs 2.67 crore income will be deducted following the cancellation of his IPL contract. Is it enough ever to stop rival on the field?

First match of the inaugural IPL T20 is going to be held between Bangalore Royal Challenger vs Kolkata Knight Riders on the 18^th of April 2008. However, for those passionate fans who are eager to see the match live on TV or stadium but don’t know about the match start time, I am giving it again. Match will be held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. It will start exact at 20:00 local time and 14:30 GMT time. And many of you already know that first IPL match will be held between Bangalore Royal Challengers vs Kolkata Knight Riders. It is thought that fight will be held between two super stars. Who are they? Top Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan becomes the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, Business tycoon Vijay Mallya is are also the owner of Bangalore Royal Challengers.

Indian Premier League (IPL): IPL will affect international Cricket ?

Indian Premier League is going to launch its inaugural tournament this year on 18^th April. However, it has already got popularity all over the world and lot of star players who has already reached in India to take participation in IPL. During the IPL Twenty20 matches, 59 matches will be played over span of 44 days. Eight teams named big eight cities in India are Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mohali and Mumbai.

Former New Zealand captain Stephen, who will play for Chennai Super Kings, express his feeling to say that: IPL can cause disrupt international cricket calendar. Because of Indian Premier League some other county league can be affected. Most of you already know that IPL is a based on Twenty20 concept unveiled by the BCCI to be played along the lines of English Premier League football and National Basketball association in the US. No doubt, most of the players will try to focus on ICC sanctioned IPL and those who will not be able to join they will sign for rebel ICL.
