Australia vs India 2nd Test 2008: India fight back at the end of the second day

VVS Laxman and Dravid helped India team to fight back in the second Test at Sydney after Australia dismissed 463 runs in the second day with unbeaten Andrew Symonds of 162. Brett Lee the third highest run scorer in Australia side scored 59 runs.

Australia started their second day 376 for 7 Andrew Symonds was on 137 with Brett Lee not out 31. At last they could add more 87 runs off facing 23 overs before India started their first innings. Wasim Jaffer and Rahul Dravid started the opening. Starting the first innings, India lost first wicket of Wasim Jaffer after adding 8 runs. Then Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman made partnership. Laxman took his fifty and third Test century in the Sydney against Australia. He scored 109 runs off facing 142 balls including 18 boundaries. It was the 200th Test inning for Rahul Dravid. So, he didn’t miss the chance to make it memorable after beating his 50th Test fifty at Sydney. Dravid became the victim of Mitchell Johnson after scoring 53 facing 160 balls. This pair shared in a 175 run stand for the second wicket partnership.

Sachin Tendulkar was on 9 along with Sourav Ganguly who scored not out 21 at stumps at the end of the second day. This pair will start their innings tomorrow. Now, it is the time to see that India can make some leading score against Australia or got dismissed behind chasing score.
