The most exciting and competitive India vs Australia 1st Test has already started with the Boxing Day. It was much expected match for all cricket fans. So, many cricket fans gathered in the stadium at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Match was held at 10:30 local time. So, it was tough for South Asian to watch the match live on TV. So, most of you are eagerly waiting to know the match report. That is why, I have written this post as you can get important information about the match of India vs Australia 1st Test.

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat in the first test against India. Everybody thought to see four pace bowlers in Australia side. However, at last Shaun Tait has been left-out and Brad Hogg has replaced this place. Australia’s opening pair was good enough and their opening 135 runs partnership supposed to make a big innings against tourist India. However, at last they could manage 337 for 9 off playing 90 overs. Australian opening batsman Matthew Hayden scored his 28th Test century in this match. Hayden shared in a century opening partnership with Jaques and departed at the fifth wicket. Indian leg-spinner and recent captain of India team, Anil Kumble first broke the partnership after taking the wicket of Phil Jaques who was replaced with Justin Langer. Australia lost their first wicket in 135 runs. Phil Jaques scored 66 runs before getting out. However, except them no one Australian player could play big innings. Now, Stuart Clark and Mitchell Johnson are in crease. They will start batting tomorrow. Anil Kumble got his 35th Test five wicket against Australia in Aussies soil. He is also third highest wicket taker in Test cricket. Indian players are expected to start batting in the second day as early as possible.

The match chanced the first one hour after the lunch. Australia was 111/0 before the lunch time. No doubt, their starting was well and it showed Australia to make another hard chasing score against India. In this venue, they won their last eight matches. Now, Australia has only one wicket left. And 337 is not very hard chasing score for India team. So, if they fail to make hard chasing score against India team then they have to defeat and lost to make new record.

However, Anil Kumble followed the wicket of Mike Hussey (2), dangerous big-hitter Andrew Symonds (35), Adam Gilchrist (23) and Brett Lee (0) to finish the day with five for 84 off 25 overs.

Another left-arm pace bowler Zaheer Khan has claimed 3 important wickets for 93 off 22 overs. He claimed most dangerous wicket of Matthew Hayden (124) who scored his 28th Test century along with Australian skipper Ricky Ponting (4) and left-hand Chinaman Brad Hogg (17).

Rudro Pratap Singh got only one wicket of Michael Clarke.

Stadium was full of people as today was holly day. Total amount of 68,465 people gathered to see the match live.

There is a proverb that alls well that ends well. So, dear fans, if Australia can set India within a poor score then their hope of winning the match will float on the sky. However, we can see it tomorrow when India will come to chase the target. So, wait till tomorrow.
