India vs Australia 1st Test: Matthew Hayden scored 100 and broke the record of Allan Border

Fans of both teams are looking towards the India vs Australia 1st Test match that has already taken place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Now, everyone is excited to know about the match summery and the name of successful batman. When it is India vs Australia match then the name of Matthew Hayden, who is 36 year old, has come first. Day by day this batsman is becoming danger for every opponent teams.

Australian left-hand opening batsman Matthew Hayden scored century against India in the first day of the first Test in the Boxing Day. Because of his Test century Australia could manage 337 for 9 off playing 90 overs.

After winning the toss, Australian skipper Ricky Ponting elected to bat first. Matthew Hayden and Phil Jaques opened the Australia’s innings. This pair made a 135 runs partnership. After scoring 66 Phil Jaques became the victim of Anil Kumble. However, Matthew Hayden was plying well. He made his fifty before lunch when Australia was 111/0. He filled his century after lunch off facing 183 balls. Hayden scored 124 runs including 9 boundaries. But he couldn’t make it big so, he had to displace in fifth wicket in the ball of Zaheer Khan. It was his 28th Test century. With his 28th Test century he broke the record of another former Australian batsman Allan Border. Allan Border got 27 century playing 156 Test matches. It is the 92nd Test match of Matthew Hayden.

However, at last we can say that he has become successful to show his best when his team needs his help. It was fault of his team mate who couldn’t continue it. For his big innings, expectation has increased to his fans. I hope he should play well in the second innings.
