Manchester Untied is going to host an underperformed Newcastle United on Saturday in the premier league. With 48 points, Manchester United now stands second in the point table, whereas Newcastle United has been in a poor form so far this season. The Magpies are struggling with 26 points so far securing 11th place in the league standings. So, Newcastle United will find it a bit difficult at the Old Trafford against Manchester Untied. It is really something disappointing for the fans to see a side which have been underperformed throughout the season.

Manchester United is the defending champion and they are one of strongest contenders of the league. Despite some early setbacks, Manchester United could bounce back in the league and they are now performing with sheer consistency. Aside from premier league, Manchester United is still active in FA Cup and UEFA Champions League. Manager Alex Ferguson has recently revealed that he eyes on both home and away success this season.

Goal.com reported:

"We have the players and the back-up to do it. We are a more mature team this season in terms of European football and we have played some successful and entertaining stuff.

"We've lost a couple of games in the league but our consistency overall has been very good. We are with the leaders in the league and we are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League and ready for the exciting games ahead."

With a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the third round match of FA Cup, Manchester United has made it to the fourth round this weekend. The good news for the Red Devils is that ace striker Wayne Rooney has come back in action with scoring the second goal against Aston Villa. Where the other teams are losing their key players ahead of the African Nations Cup, Manchester United now seems to be getting stronger, with no players from African in the squad. Midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo is now in his great form and currently leading the list of highest goal scorers with 13 premier league goals. Ronaldo is delighted with Rooney’s come back in the side which, to him, has made them stronger.

Goal.com reported:

"Everyone knows Wayne is a good player," said the Portuguese international.

"He does not have to do anything to prove that. He came on against Villa and did very well. He looked sharp and good - that can only benefit us. We have a strong season ahead of us, so it is important Wayne is ready along with all the other players as well."

Manchester Untied has some more news to cheer on. Defender Mikael Silvestre is also confident to come back in the squad soon terming his long rehabilitation time boring. On the other hand, Newcastle United is going through a tough time. They have recently finished a goal less draw against Stroke City. Though star forward, Michael Owen came back in the squad, he was not in his good form to start scoring. Since his move from Real Madrid, Owen has been underperformed and Newcastle United is eagerly waiting to see his impressive from in the season which will lead the side to go up in the league table.

Fansfc reported:

"We are pleased to have him back and hopefully now he will get sharper and sharper as each game goes on and score more and more goals because that's what we are looking for," he told the club's official website.
"And I hope that's the case right the way through to the end of the season."

Actually, Michael Owen could not score for Newcastle United since early October. So, Newcastle United will hope to see their star forward in an imperious form against Manchester United. Manager Sam Allardyce is now under huge pressure due to their poor form of Newcastle United. However, goalkeeper Shay Given has recently said that this is the responsibility of the players to ease the pressure mounting on their manager.

Skysports reported:

"We as players have to stand up and be counted because the only reason the manager is under pressure is that we are under-performing," Given told The Journal.

"We've got to put that right, stick together and start playing better.

Well, it is also natural that when the performance of the club is not up to the mark, manager must be under pressure. Now, Newcastle United has to cope up with this tough situation and bounce back in the premier league. Still, first of all, players need to come back in their prime form in order to lead the side to achieve some success at last.

Manchester Untied seems favorite in the match as they going to play at their home ground. However, if Newcastle United players can play according to their talent then I think, they will be able to give some scary moments to the host side and I will not surprised if Newcastle can get at least a point from the match.
