First day of the three day warm-up match was played only two-and-a-half hours before torrential rain saturated the ground where 38 overs had been bowled. Indian team could manage only 110 for 3 in their first day. Only 10 overs were possible to be bowled in second day.
Allan Wise, Victorian left-arm fast bowler, was the most successive bowler claimed all the top four wickets. Wasim Jaffer was his first victim. Then he took the wicket one by one. He got 4 for 37 at an average of 2.46. Indian left-arm batsman Sourav Ganguly who scored 59 runs was the highest run holder in Indian team. Indian players used much of the downtime to train at the MCG indoor nets.
