New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2nd Test: New Zealand whitewashed Bangladesh by 2-0

New Zealand team beat tourist Bangladesh by 137 runs and innings in their second and last Test match within three days at Wellington, Basin Reserve.

Bangladesh team started their third day morning with Habibul Bashar was not out 25 along with Shakib Al Hasan 4 at five for 51, still needing 199 runs to avoid Kiwi’s first innings lead and make the home side bat again with four wickets remaining due to Tamim Iqbal’s thumb injury. No one could show any impressive performance in the second innings that could bat host team second time. Fans of Bangladesh team lost their faint hope of avoiding the inning when set batsman Habibul Bashar was dismissed for 25 after being trapped lbw by Chris Martin with the fifth ball of the day.

Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored the highest run in his side. He got two lives in his way of big innings. He survived a dropped catch by Iain O’Brein as he patiently added 23 runs in 13 overs to take the score to 79. He scored unbeaten 41 runs. New Zealand bowlers took less time to collapse Bangladesh team. Bangladesh team got dismissed in 47 overs in their second innings at Wellington.

Bangladeshi tail ender Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza frustrating New Zealand attack for nearly 10 overs, adding 30 runs to take the total to 113 before Mashrafe was dismissed for six. Kyle Mills caught his catch at point and fulfill his 100 catch in Test.

Chris Martin who awarded man of the match for five wickets in the first innings also claimed two wickets for 5, while Mills, Oram and O’Brein also took two wickets apiece.

No, doubt their bad performance disappoint their fans. What is wrong with top order batsmen? Why they can’t play long innings?

I hope new coach should find out the problem and solve it as Bangladesh team never suffer same problem.

New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2nd Test 2008: Middle order batting line the main problem?

New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2nd and last Test is now the most expected match to all in both cricket fans. This match will start from 12th January, 2008. It will take place at Basin Reserve, Wellington. It will begin at 11:00 local time and 22:00 GMT time. Host New Zealand team is now leading the Test series by 1-0 after winning the first Test by 9 wickets inside three days. Chasing the 35 runs in the second innings, New Zealand team reached the winning side before tea.

Bangladeshi new coach Jamie Siddons has admitted that lack of consistency from the middle-order batsmen is the main reason of early defeat. Jamie Siddons is happy about opening pair Tamim Iqbal and Junaid Siddique who shared an opening stand of 161 without any lose. Being a nice start Bangladesh team captured after Tamim’s dismissal. Coach also blamed the players for more shots from the middle order.

Four start players Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed, Habibul Bashar and Shahriar Nafees could not show any resistance against Kiwi bowlers. Most of the players played many strike shot that is not necessary in Test cricket. Test cricket is all about patients. If you lose your patients you will get out.

It is encouraging that openers are in good form. Siddons is targeting improvements middle order to make big score against host New Zealand team.

Bangladesh team is full of new constellation. So, I think these new constellations need some time to involve with the game professionally.

I want to finish this article to say a quote of New Zealand former captain Stephen Flaming. He said that Bangladesh can do anything in their day. And if New Zealand team loses their consistency then young players can make any accident. So be careful about this team.

Bangladesh team has reached Dunedin under the captaincy of Mohammad Ashraful. Young captain Mohammad Ashraful is hoping to enhance their record. New Zealand is not taking Bangladesh team easily.

Bangladesh could not show any impressive performance in the 3rd ODI against New Zealand. Getting win against New Zealand is still a dream to Bangladesh team.

No one Bangladeshi Batsman could make any protest against New Zealand’s bowling attack. Bangladeshi skipper Mohammad Ashraful set his place in one-down. He was likely to come back and fight against Kiwi. But unfortunately got out scoring 25 runs before became the victim of Michael Mason. He is the highest run scorer in his side. Aftab Ahmed Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan and Farhad Reza tried to make protest against Kiwi but they could not consistency their play.

Leading bowler Syed Russel is now in injury. No doubt, Bangladesh team will miss his lack. Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak and Shahadat Hossain will lead the bowling side.

Top order batsmen in Bangladesh team can not perfrom consistently in every match. Most of the players are young and inexperienced. Only a few players like skipper Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed and Tamim Iqbal have experienced to play ICC World Cup. The problem of Bangladesh team is their fragile middle order batting line up. Ashraful is the main star batsman in Bangladesh team. So, fans of Bangladesh team want to see some superb shot and big innings from his bat because his big innings means match win of Bangladesh team that we saw against Australia, South Africa and West Indies team.

Bangladesh never gets win against New Zealand team except practice match in ICC World Cup 2007 in West Indies. Now, young tigers are hoping to defeat Kiwi in their soil.
