Harbhajan Singh: A great victory for India team

It is perhaps the happiest news to Indian fans that Steve Bucknor has been removed from officiating in the remaining India-Australia Test series and Harbhajan Singh has been clearly to play pending his appeal against the ban. ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed conceded the appeal over Harbhajan Singh’s three-match suspension might not be heard before Perth. Billy Bowden has been replaced this place.

The board secretary Niranjan Shah told PTI, “It is more important that the umpiring issue because Harbhajan Singh has been accused of racism and we will never tolerate any such thing. We have already made an appeal against his ban and we are waiting for the process of start.”

BCCI raised a voice to say India team should abandon the Australia series if ICC doesn’t ban the three Tests suspension. However, they got lots of responses in favor of pulling out the series.

In Kolkata and Kanpur, effigies of umpires Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson had been set alight in protest, the press tour of India reports.

It is said that horrendous umpires gifted the 2nd Test match away to Australia that was 16th consecutive Test win for Ricky Ponting’s Australia team. It wasn’t enough for Australia team as Australia’s all-rounder Andrew Symonds accused Harbhajan Singh for racial abuse to say him a ‘big monkey’.

Whole India has burst into fires. Now, they raise a voice that Bucknor has lost his vision and hearing.

Harbhajan may be eligible to play for India team in Perth after Speed indicated the appeal process might not be resolved quickly. He also said that the appeal would include re-telling of the evidence that Procter heard at the SCG on Sunday night.

Now, we the fan of India team can hope to see the next match that will take place at WACA ground on 16th January, 2008 including Harbhajan Singh.
