Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the second ODI cricketer in LG ICC Batsmen Ranking

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the captain of Indian ODI and T20 team. He has already showed his capability as a perfect captain of Indian team. Under his captaincy, India won the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20 and CB Series of 2007-08. He is also a good wicketkeeper cum batsman in his team and now in good form. However, this right-handed aggressive batsman moved up two places in the recently announced LG ICC ODI ranking. Now, he is taking 2nd position with 773 ratings in the ODI batsmen ranking followed by South African opener Graeme Smith. Australian captain Ricky Ponting is in third position. His superb performance in the recent past Asia Cup in Pakistan set him in the top position. He scored 327 runs during the tournament and dismissed just twice in five innings that time he had a strike-rate of 91 runs per 100 balls. Indian little master Sachin Tendulkar, who missed the tournament because of groin injury, drops four places and take sixth spot in the ODI batsmen ranking list.
India team is in Sri Lanka to play three Test matches and five ODIs. MS Dhoni has opted out from Test squad for rest. However, we can see him again in the ODI series to lead his team in the right direction.
Can he consistence his performance in ODI cricket?
