India the second team in ICC Test ranking

Good news for Indian fans is that Indian cricket team is certain to move up in the second spot of the test championship table. The historic win against world champion Australia team at Perth has assured India a rise to the second place in the ICC Test depends on the result of the fourth and last Test match on this tour.

Some Indian players have broken individual Test rankings.

Irfan Pathan has broken into the top 20 of Test bowlers chart showing his all rounder performance in the third Test. He scored 28 and 46 with the bat besides claiming 5-117 in Perth that has helped to climb him six places to 19th to join Kumble.

If the final Test in Adelaide which will start January 24 ends in a draw, India will move two rating points ahead of third-placed Sri Lanka.

If India wins the series then tourist team will finish with 113 rating points, four points ahead of Mahela Jayawardena's Sri Lanka team.

And host Australia team win the series then India will sit above Sri Lanka team when ratings points are calculated beyond the decimal point.

It is the great chance for Irfan Pathan to overcome Pakistan pair Mohammad Asif and Danish Kaneria as well as New Zealand’s James Franklin.

Australia lost their last Test at home against India at Adelaide four years ago. Now, last Test match is going to be held the same ground. So, we can hope that India will make the series draw with the second win in Adelaide.
