Chris Rogers will replace with Matthew Hayden in Perth Test?

Australia vs India 3rd Test will start next week. It will stat from 16th January at W.A.C.A. Ground, Perth. Fans of both teams can see a big change in Australia team in the third Test. Australian left-hand opening batsman Matthew Hayden has more possibility to be left out from the third Test because of his thigh injury in the second Test at Sydney. Now, Australian coach and captain are seeking someone who can replace this place. Now, ACT Invitational opener Chris Rogers, who could replace with the injured Matthew Hayden, hopes to make debut in his home ground in Perth.

Rogers is passing his tough time to prove his talent ahead of the selection in the national team in the ACT Invitation XI vs India three days warm-up match. However, he has kept his hope arise after scoring 60 runs in the first innings chasing India’s target.

Rogers faced Indian bowling attack with patient in the warm-up match in Canberra. Indian bowlers also showed their best bowling performance in this venue. Ishant Sharma, who is the India’s most successive bowler claimed first three wickets, getting the movement of pitch. And Irfan Pathan also bowled well particularly and swung the ball.

Rogers was in contention for an opening slot at the start of the summer but was struck down with appendicitis, missing out to Phil Jaques who is now the all time opener batsman in Australia main team. Rogers appeared to have edge, especially with a Pura Cup run tally with 1202 at 70.70.

Rogers scored only 148 runs in six games this season at the WACA that is his home ground.

It is time to get a call from selection board. I hope, Australian cricket board will give him a chance as he is good form and make him an all time opening batsman in Australian cricket team.
