ACT Invitational XI vs India 2nd Warm-up match: Match report of the final day

ACT Invitational XI vs India three days warm-up match has become draw. Virender Sehwag played another aggressive innings in this bouncy pitch. Virender Sehwag has caught the light of the hype over the bouncy pitch against ACT Invitational XI in Canberra after scoring a quick Test century in 73 balls.

He made 158 runs partnership along with Dinesh Karthik in the opening pair who also played second highest innings in this match. Virender Sehwag is seeking a place in the national team. It is quite sure that Virender Sehwag can recall in India team. He played only two ODIs in WACA where he performed well in both matches. Then my mind is seeking a question that we can hope to see him for India team. He hit 18 boundaries and 2 sixes in his innings. He consumed 38 balls to cross half-century mark. On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik played a long time innings scoring 97 runs off facing 157 balls including 12 boundaries.

However, it was the sixth successive failure for One-day specialist Yuvraj Singh. So, he may left out from the next match. Wasim Jaffer could not show any consistency in the second innings. His bad performance in four innings fall him in a doubt to get selection in the main squad ahead of the third Test.

Indian team had declared their second innings at 4 for 281 in the tea break. India lost their first wicket off Virender Sehwag in 26 overs. Slow left-arm orthodox bowler Mark Higgs claimed his wicket. Ryan Bulger got two wickets for 120.

ACT Invitational XI scored 60 for 3 in 17 overs at an average of 3.52. Chris Rogers, who seems to debut in Perth Test in the place of Matthew Hayden, scored 17 runs with three fours that is the highest score in his side. Pankaj Singh got two wickets for 21. Irfan Pathan also claimed the wicket of Chris Rogers. Some players luck depends on this warm-up match to play in the national side.

Australia vs India 3rd Test will start from 16th January. So, wait until the next Test will start.
