Sri Lanka vs England 3rd Test 2007: Sri Lanka poised to clinch a 2-0 series victory

Sri Lanka vs England 3rd and last test is now going on where host Sri Lanka team is now leading the series by 1-0. Now, host team is trying to end the home series with 2-0. I think it is not impossible for Sri Lanka team as they bundled tourist England team in a poor score.

Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene has made a record in this test match against England.

Chasing a hard score of 499 England got all out in 81 runs. It is the lowest Test score against Sri Lanka for any country.

Highest run in England side came from Captain Paul Collingwood. He scored 29 runs in 48 balls. Sri Lankan bowler Vaas took four for 28. He is the highest wicket taker in Sri Lanka team. Alastair Cook, Michael Vaughn, Ravi Bopara and Matt Prior were his victim. England team lost their top 6 wickets within 33 runs then English captain and bowler Ryan Sidebottom tried to make a protest and this pair also made a 37 runs partnership in 7th wicket. Then Muttiah Muralitharan broke the pair and help Sri Lanka to set England in a poor score in Test cricket. It is the lowest total for any country against Sri Lankan in their home ground.

Mahela Jawaradene who got missed his double century for five runs in the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo, don’t missed to get another double century. It is thought that Mahela Jayawardene is a luckiest batsman as he got two lives in his way to big inning. He was dropped twice by Matt Prior on Wednesday, and received another life from the wicketkeeper on 154 with Ryan Sidebottom once again the unlucky bowler. However, he was unbeaten 213. In his way to double-hundred he hit 25 boundaries off 411 deliveries.

Now, English players are chasing the score to avoid the defeat by an innings. You already know that it is totally impossible. And no one team could get win chasing a hard target. It is now matter of fact that England will defeat by an inning or with also huge runs away. Dear fans more one innings left for Sri Lanka team.
