Asia Cup Cricket 2008: Is Suresh Raina the next generation super star?

The young batting sensation Suresh Suresh Raina is now the most talked topic for his superb performance in the on going Asia Cup tournament. This 21-year old batsman has made highest total score for his team. This left-hander Uttar Pradesh player just played three matches in Asia Cup 2008 cricket tournament where he scored two ODI hundred against weak Hong Kong in group round and Bangladesh in Super four round. And his one half-century came against arch-rival team Pakistan. He has awarded “man-of-the-match” title three times in a row in this series. He is also useful off spin bowler. Most of the Indian fans were worried about the lack of senior players. I think Suresh Raina could fill the gap successfully and showed the capability of his own.

Suresh Raina made his debut in ODI team in 2005. Since his debut for Indian cricket team, he played a lot of matches but failed to make his consistence for senior players. It is high time for him to make sure his position to replace with Sourav Ganguly. Let us see how long he can continue his form.
