Kolkata Knight Riders win by 5 runs

Kolkata Knight Rider has got their third wins by 5 runs against Bangalore Royal Challengers in their 7th match after four consecutive defeats which took place at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Due to heavy rain match delayed to start and reduced to 16 over for per side. After winning the toss KKR skipper Sourav Ganguly elected to bat first. It was a big chance for both teams to come back in the competition. However, Rahul Dravid’s Bangalore failed to make any resistance against Kolkata players.

Kolkata’s opening pair couldn’t make a good start. They fall pressure after losing two important wickets within 20 runs. Then Sourav Ganguly and David Hussey took the helm of batting side. After scoring 20 runs, Sourav got run out while taking a quick run. He compiled the second highest score. David Hussey made the highest 26 runs for his side facing 12 balls.

However, after losing 7 wickets, Kolkata made a chasing score of 129 against Bangalore.

Chasing this score, Bangalore set within 124 runs for 4. Bangalore team was in pressure after losing two important wickets within 32 runs. Rahul Dravid tried to make protest with Mark Boucher but failed. He scored 5 runs off facing 11 balls. Then wicket keeper Mark Boucher made a strong protest with Cameron White. And this pair showed the way to get win. But after losing the wicket of Cameron White Bangalore’s win became unsure. This right-hand batsman scored a quick 30 runs with three boundaries and one six off just 16 balls.

Sourav Ganguly has become man of the match for claiming 1 wicket for 7 bowling 3 overs at economy rate 2.33 after his batting.

Bangalore team is taking bottom position and has lost their hope to play in the second round.
