Zimbabwe cricket team will tour of Pakistan to play an ODI series despite fears over the security situation following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto on December 27. Both teams are going to start their international cricket with the series in 2008.
Pakistan team, who went throw into a bad time in 2007, will play their first ODI series in this year. Last year was worse for this South Asian team. They lost their last ODI series against India in Indian soil. Not only this but also they lost Test series also after 21 year in Indian ground that is a record breaking defeat for them.
Pakistan team got early exit from the round stage in ICC World Cup Cricket in West Indies 2007 where they lost their coach Bob Ulmar. However, then they took place in the final round in the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup last year.
Zimbabwe could not show any impressive performance except in the inaugural Twenty20 match where they defeated mighty Australia team. Then they got only one ODI win against West Indies team. Some Test cricket playing countries have appealed to ICC chief to abandon Zimbabwe because of poor performance in international cricket.

Zimbabwe will start their tour series with the warm-up match against Patron’s XI. This warm-up match will start from 14th January and continue till 17, 2008. This is a four-day Test match. After finishing the Warm up match both tourist Zimbabwe and host Pakistan will start playing ODI series. Both teams will play 5 ODIs. It will continue till 2nd February. That team will get ODI series trophy who can win many ODI matches.
