Australia vs India 2nd Test: Fighting for selection in the main squad

Australia vs India 2nd Test of the four-match Test series will kick off today with the New Year. There is only few hours are left to start the second Test. This is the first Test match between these two teams in this year. However, India lost their first Test against host Australia team with huge margin of 337 runs and one day to spare. Now, Ricky Ponting’s Australia team is heading toward the 16th consecutive Test win on Sydney Cricket Ground to equal their own world Test record. India’s heaviest and record defeat fall their some batsmen to get selection in the second Test.

Indian selectors are making drama over their batting line-up ahead of the second Test in the SCG that is going to start today.

Virender Sehwag has been recalled in the second Test at SCG. And Rahul Dravid, who failed to show impressive performance in both innings, has got one step down and take place his most chosen place at no 3. Now, Yuvraj Singh, who got selection in the 6th position, has possibility to left-out from main squad.

Fans of Indian team will be happy when they heard that their star batsman Sachin Tendulkar has some impressive innings in the SCG venue. On their last tour to Australia, Sachin Tendulkar made double-century and unbeaten 60 in the second innings when India made a whopping 705 for seven declared.

Anil Kumble also did good performance taking eight for 141 and four for 138 in the same match for a match analysis of 12 for 279.

Ricky Ponting, who failed to make score both innings in Melbourne, is the leading run scorer at the SCG. He scored 111226 runs in 12 Tests at an average of 81.73. He is hoping that he will get back his form in this venue.

However, Australian captain Ricky Ponting is depending the unchanged squad to claim 16th consecutive Test win.

Again Australian young fast bowler Shaun Tait left out and left-arm Chinaman spinner Brad Hogg has replaced his place. SCG pitch is spin friendly so, it is expected that Brad Hogg again can show his impressive performance after Melbourne Cricket Ground.

However, Australian captain Ricky Ponting has to admit that challenge at the SCG is not easy for them as they lost against India at this venue four years ago and made the series 1-1 draw. So, if Ricky Ponting wants to equal their own record then they have to show impressive performance.

Indian team is better than their previous tour. Most of their batsmen have good record against Australia team. They only have to bring out the best thing from them.

India team doesn’t change in bowing side. They wish to get success with the same bowling attack.

However, dear fans match will start soon then we will see have got selection or not in the main squad.
