New Zealand vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI: New Zealand clinched the ODI series by 2-0

Host New Zealand team has already clinched the three-match ODI series after winning the second ODI against Bangladesh by 102 runs by D/L method in Napier.

After winning the toss, New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori elected to bat first. Jamie How, Peter Fulton and Jacob Oram all posted half-centuries as New Zealand made 335 for 5 from their 50 overs.

Chasing this hard score, Bangladesh scored 181 for 6 after 43 overs when the rain came in to bring an early end to proceeding.

New Zealand bowler Kyle Mills helped his team taking four for 40 as the tourist struggled to keep up with the run rate.

Highest run has come from Aftab Ahmed. He scored 54 runs off facing 78 balls. In his way of half-century he hit 5 boundaries and 1 over boundary. However, young and aggressive Tamim Iqbal scored 43 runs. Mohammad Ashraful, captain of Bangladesh team couldn’t show any impressive performance. Aftab Ahmed, who was the highest run scorer in Bangladesh team, was the last man out before the umpires took the teams off the field.

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori claimed two important wickets of danger man Aftab Ahmed and Tushar Imran.

Bangladeshi players are still hopeless being lost the ODI series. Now, 3rd and last ODI match will take place Queenstown Events Centre on 31st December. Any miracle can happen that day.
